Recently I entered an amatuer art show. One of the categories was enhanced photography, so I entered this piece of my mothers childhood home..........It won!!!!!!!
My mother was wanting a picture of her house for some time. And after many hints, I finally got it. I went to where she lived, South Dallas, an area extremely low in income. It was unbelieveable to see this house still up and still resembling the time when she lived there.
After getting about 10 shots, I went home and began searching for the perfect photo. After reviewing them, I realized something was not right. This photo was "Back When", so I decided to process it in Sephia, which really enhanced the feel of this photo. Needless to say, my mother really enjoyed it for this past Mothers Day. Guess the judges from the art show enjoyed it too. I just wanted to share this.
At the begining of the summer, my daughter and I went to the Renaissance Festival with some friends. The weather was beautiful and the kids had a lot of fun. But, the most fun was watching my daughter laugh and smile, especially on the way home. There was this gorgeous patch of wild flowers on the side of the freeway, so having kids and a camera, what were we suppose to do? Here is one pic that I took of her, you'd never know there were cars racing by, lol! I've uploaded more pics from the festival as well.
My daughter moved to Florida and has been gone for about a month now. It's taken a long time to adjust, but I'm trying and still adjusting. I'm just glad I have plenty of pictures of her for me to enjoy, and these are just a couple that I really enjoy.
Ok, it's been a really, really, long time since my last blog and I have tons of photos to upload! But, my latest photos are of my beautiful, future, sister-in-law. Instead of the more traditional photos of the bride to be, she decided she wanted photos in the city. So we photographed her in a distict part of Dallas called Deep Ellum. Here are a few I took of her, which she really likes. There are a total of 8 photos uploaded.
In the other basketball game, the Tigers had their first win of the season! Although my daughter, #1, attempted like 6 shots, she didn't score this game. But, she was a huge help in defending and getting open to make plays. It was great to watch this team start passing the ball around more and not getting scard to take a shot at the basket. I can't wait till the next game! It seems their coming together as a team! And at age 10 and 11, some of these kids are really getting into the game! Kids sports are so much fun to watch, and I'm proud that my daughter has really come to enjoy this sport.
Well, since my Cowboys are out of the playoffs, maybe my Mavericks can do something this season. It's taken a while, but I think the Mavericks are bigining to get it together for a great season. This game was last week against the Detroit Pistons and the Mavericks won, again. Making it their 5th in a row! It was a blast. Here are some pics from that game.
It's been about a month since I've posted on here and I have missed it. I hope to post more and try and keep more of a decent blog going, mainly for my own mental health. I'm glad the holidays are over so I can get back to some kind of a normal life. The holidays are kind of a beating for me........glad it only happens once a year!
In that long month, I have taken a ton of pics, so I'm not sure which ones I'll post here. But for now, I'll just post the latest ones of my daughters basketball game. Her team lost, 10 to 8, but she scored 4 points! I did shoot her scoring her two shots, so both times she's posting up under the net with the ball, are the 2 times she scored. It was fun to watch, but a whole lot more fun to shoot. I learned a lot shooting in this gym with low lighting for cameras, and hope to be able to adjust my camera o get better photographs. For now, here's what I got.
Birthday party's! there's nothing like them, except for Christmas, that kids get really excited for. Here are a few pics of my daughters birthday party. On hand, for the first time in years, is my father, her grandpa. He has not really been apart of my life, but I've seen and talked to him on occasion. However, he has not seen his grand kids in years. Lately he's made comments about wanting to be a better dad, so I'm glad I called and told him about my daughters party. Even though Elisa had a nice time, I think the best present was my father seeing his second son for the first time in 9 or ten years!
Thanks for your comment. It was a long time ago and i really appreciate it. read more
